ESSENCE at Treasure, the Ethical Jewellery Pavilion
In 2010 London Jewellery Week launches ESSENCE in association with CRED, the Ethical Jewellery Pavilion and very first international collective show of the best designers in the emerging ethical movement.
ESSENCE is a space for a group of designers who share the vision that sustainable products do not have to sacrifice design or quality and are committed to sourcing all their materials and managing their business in a way that is socially, environmentally and culturally responsible.
ESSENCE will be part of the Treasure exhibition, a centrepiece for London Jewellery Week, and will showcase leading ethical jewellery designers including : – Cred – Fifi Bijoux – Leblas – also showing collections from Oria – Made – Ute Decker
A live ethical design project curated by Cred, in association with London Metropolitan interior and product design graduates Christina Poerzgen,Elizabeth Mead,Diana Kaganova,Chrystanthi Chrysanthou,Kuda Mandishona, Dan Convey,Carole Myers and will feature the exciting talent of Jewellers, Hong-Ju Chung, Yahsin Huang, Vicky Saragouda and Melanie Codarin
Alongongside designer showcases there will also be a series of seminars and debates highlighting the issues faced by the industry and consumers. London Jewellery Week has established an Ethical Jewellery Foundation to champion ethical and Fair Trade jewellery that makes a real and lasting difference to the industry and this will become a key feature of London Jewellery Week beyond this year’s event.
The Ethical Jewellery Foundation is being launched with support from the Fairtrade Foundation, the Responsible Jewellery Council, GIA and London Jewellery Week.
